Hey Urban Iditarod Rock Stars,
There is no other way to put it, everyone rocked the first annual Boston Urban Iditarod! The costumes and carts were legendary, the game play was hysterical, the pole dancing was scandalous and the talents were impressive. Not only did we have a rocking day urban iditaroding we also brought in almost 1600 pounds of food for the Boston Medical Center Food Pantry!
Team Bearded Clams brought in over 400 pounds of food to clench the most food donated and also scored a critical ten minute time bonus that put them in the lead to take home the first place trophy. Coming in a close second The Double D’s also get mention as one of only two teams to complete ALL the challenges. Rounding out the top 3 is Team Dysfunctional coming in a solid third place.
Coming in dead f’ing last with the most pathetic racing effort Team Bad Newz Kennelz took home our equally pathetic trophy. Mowgli and the Indigenous Peoples took home top honors in the talent contest with their interpretive dance routine or whatever they were doing. Team Birthday Bitches danced like it was their birthday to take home the dubious distinction of the best pole dancers. We also want to mention Team Legends of the Hidden Temple for there blazing quick running, unfortunately for them the bonus time teams scored in the challenges trumped their raw speed. Our best in show team The CastAways brought in over 100 pounds of food, hosted Chris and his crew from styleboston.tv, sabotaged at least one team and rumor has it drank some serious tequila. Hats off to The CastAways and all our 2011 winners!
